A friend and I were having a discussion the other day about responsibility. Since we both practice the arts of healing, our conversation began with the subject of what necessitates our responsibility regarding clients. She and I are co-founders of a local free community healing clinic. We are committed to share healing with as many as we are able, on whatever level is needed. This is a new, uncharted path for us. We were commenting on the fact that many in our society take very little or no responsibility for their actions, their dealings with others, or in their own lives.
This topic evolved into a fascinating path; rather than responsibility, what is our Response-ability. In other words, what is our response to our life? Where does our ability to respond and from what level lie? I'm sure much has been written on this thought. For us, it is a new concept. So as we began to look at our responsibilities versus our ability to respond to life, that opened a whole new door!
